Taste of WEBB: A WEBB Squared Entrepreneur Showcase

#WEBBCelebrates Black Business Month

August is National Black Business Month, a time to celebrate, uplift, and invest in Black entrepreneurship. Started in 2004 by engineering entrepreneur Frederick E. Jordan and publisher John William Templeton, National Black Business Month is more than a celebration—it’s a call to action - to recognize the vital contributions of Black-owned businesses and promotes equity, inclusion, and economic empowerment across the country.

WEBB Squared, an NC non-profit - dedicated to advancing BIPOC entrepreneurship through coaching, mentorship, and community building - answered that call. Taste of WEBB offered a unique opportunity to experience the talents and tastes of entrepreneurs enrolled in WEBB’s coaching program, while encouraging the community to shop these businesses.

WEBB Entrepreneurs

Less than a month ago WEBB Squared hosted its very first "Entrepreneur Showcase" to celebrate National Black Business month. The event was highly attended and featured several local, black owned, businesses from the Chatham area.

Some WEBB entrepreneurs—chefs and bakers alike—shared their stories through the food they created. Other's prepared elevator pitches and handouts to get the word out about their businesses. Special guests James "Monty" Montague and April Perry were in attendance as well. Montague read an exert from his recent book "Hood Minted," and Perry closed the event with a stellar comedy set.
