Chatham Artists Showcased at 79°West

The 79°West Innovation Hub hosted a reception highlighting Patricia Martin and Bobby Izquierdo of Chatham Artists Guild in late January. Attendees enjoyed collections from the two artists, ranging from painted portraits to still-life photography.

As a painter, Patricia Martin focuses on introspection, storytelling and emotional connection. One of her featured pieces, A Million Worlds to See, is a study of excitement, independent thought and travel. Martin draws on personal experience and universal themes to explore the spirit of her subjects while leaving room for interpretation and connection with the viewer.

Bobby Izquierdo displayed his collection of fine art photographs at the reception. Using Lightroom and Photoshop, Izquierdo recasts daytime images of Pittsboro establishments into nighttime scenes, a style known as day-to-night conversion. He also showcased works of his primary art form, still-life light painting, a method of photography and Photoshop that yields oil painting-like images.

After the showcase, attendees enjoyed dinner and live music at Hops & Berry Taproom.
